Northwest Florida, St. Andrews State Park

Walking on the Buttonwood Marsh Overlook and around Gator Lake we were able to see a Double-Crested Cormorant.  Sorry no photo of it included.  This is a large bird  with a hooked sharp bill and webbed feet.
When walking the trails you will see dunes, scrub and pine woods, and marshes with plenty of wild animals.

This walk caries you over sand dunes onto the sugar white sand.
If the weather is appropriate enjoy a swim in the emerald green water of the Gulf of Mexico.   This area is a favorite of beach enthusiast that snorkel, scuba dive, kayak, canoe , surf, swim and fish.
As you can see the water is wonderful but when there is a red flag stay out of the water.
Every year people ignore the flag warnings and some pay with their life.
